Case study · Festival rigging
Soundstorm, Riyadh
One of the biggest music festivals in the world, a main stage on a scale rarely seen in Europe, and a schedule with zero slack. At MDLBEAST Soundstorm, the show hung on us.

The brief
Soundstorm in Riyadh plays in a league of its own: hundreds of thousands of visitors, multiple stages, international headliners and a main stage carrying lighting, sound, video and show effects all at once. For the rigging, that means heavy loads, many trades working above and next to each other, and a build window where every hour counts.
Add the conditions on site: heat, dust and wind put different demands on equipment and crew than an air-conditioned exhibition hall. Safety standards and documentation still have to meet what international productions expect.
The execution
SilverBones was on site in Riyadh with experienced riggers, embedded in an international production team. Rigging points and load distribution were agreed with the technical planners in advance; on site, our crew handled the build, briefings and daily checks of the installation. Chain hoists, rigging gear and people worked together exactly as the tight production schedule demanded.
The result
The main stage went into the show on time and stayed safe and serviceable for the entire run of the festival. A project that shows a crew from Chemnitz delivers where the standards are set globally: planned, hung, delivered.
